Giman Free states that it continuously monitors and researches the conservation of endangered species along the Northern and Eastern Coast. It also highlights a commitment to conserving the traditional fishing Vedda community, marine archaeology, underwater species, turtles, dolphins, whales, elephants, eagles, and other endangered species with the help of its research facility.
The resort positions responsible tourism not only as an operational approach, but as a direct contribution to sustainable development in communities affected by decades of civil unrest.
Protecting sea turtles on the East Coast.
Sea turtles were once popular in areas such as Vakarai, Sallitheivu, Kayankerni, and Mankerni, but the resort describes them as now being under serious threat due to human interference and illegal hunting.
Its stated response includes education for villagers, school staff, and law enforcement, creating alternative job opportunities, encouraging broad participation, and initiating turtle hatcheries. A turtle hatchery is described as already being conducted at Giman Free Beach Resort in Kayankerni, with another proposed in Vakarai.
